About Moore leaves and branches
The Robert Evans & Mahala Granger Family came from Virginia to Dahlonega, Ga,  Lumpkin County in the mid 1800,s. They came in covered wagons during the land  Lottery, and Gold Rush Days. Robert Evans was a farmer and Justice of the  Peace. He was the father of James J. Evans that married Harriet Bates. She was the  daughter of Major General John Bates that was born in South CArolina. He married  Barbary Crenshaw from Pendleton district in South Carolina. He was involved in the  removal of the Cherokee Indians to the Reservation. Strangely enough Barbary is said  to be Indian. He also held public office in Hall and Lumpkin Co Ga. It is said that  he died in Murray County Ga, after hitting his head on a hitching post. He served in  public office in Lumpkin and Hall Counties in Georgia.
 James J. Evans was born in Lumpkin County Ga. and married Harriet Bates.She was the   daughter of Major John W Bates and Barbary Crenshaw. James J. Evans and Harriet Bates  were the parents of Reuben "Andrew" Evans that married Lucinda "Sarah Ann" Hatfield. She was the daughter of  George Thomas Hatfield (b ca 1825 Haywood Co NC) and  Elizabeth Laney Christopher was b Rutherford, County N.C. 
 Elizabeth Laney Christopher was the daughter of Ambrose Christopher b Va and  Priscilla Goode b Rutherford Co NC. 
 It is said that George Thomas Hatfield was a colorful character, with several  occupations. He was listed in the Census as a Farmer, a County Surveyor, and a Tax  Collector, according to Lumpkin Co Census. He is listed as a teacher in the Poor  School Records in Lumpkin Co Ga. as well as his father Rev Benjamin E Hatfield b ca  1791 in Va., (according to Widows Pension of War of 1812).   George T Hatfield was also one of the Georgia Militia. A group of men appointed by  Governor Joe Brown to protect the Rail Road during the Civil War.  Rev. Benjamin E Hatfield b ca 1792 Va. and his 1st wife Martha Everett Born  Va. were the parents of George T Hatfield. He preached at several churches in Lumpkin  County Ga. and is listed as a teacher in the Poor School Records of Lumpkin Co Ga. He  served in the war of 1812. 
 After the death of his wife Martha Everett, he married Maria (Mariah) Adams b SC. in  Lumpkin Co Ga. 
 Benjamin E Hatfield was the son of George Hatfield b ca 1766 Virginia, it is  uncertain who the wife of George Hatfield b ca 1766 in Va was. It is thought that she  might possibly be Susan Ellis from Southampton Co Va. Benjamin E Hatfield and 2nd  wife Maria (Mariah) Adams moved to Jackson County Ga briefly, before moving to  Parksville, Polk Co Ga. There he died shortly after moving his family there, he is  buried in the old Watson/Beckler Cemetery, way back in the forest. His grave is only  listed on an old PWA Record. A marker was put down in Dec by  Rev Benjamin Ambrose  Hatfield from Ga. A grandson by several generations.
 Reuben "Andrew" Evans and Lucinda "Sarah Ann" Hayes, were the parents of Carrie  Priscilla Evans b May 12,1877, Lumpkin Co Ga. She Married Henry "Oscar" Sikes, born  Jackson Co Ga. He was the son of James (Jim) Sikes and Emeline Rooks b Ga (Jackson  Co?). 
 They were the parents of 
 1.Gollie Marie Sikes
 2.Sarah Ann Sikes
 3.Grace Emeline Sikes
 4.Mary Ruth Sikes
 Carrie died a week after her daughter Mary Ruth Sikes was born. Mary Ruth Sikes died  about the following week.
 They are buried in the family cemetery, in Hoschton Ga.Jackson Co Ga. at Walnut Fork  Baptist Church Cemetery.  
 Their daughter Gollie Marie Sikes b Sept. 7, 1897 in Hoschton Ga.,  Jackson Co. She  married 1st Thomas Love Moon b Aug 18,1895 in Hoschton Ga Jackson Co. He  was the son  of William Joshua Moon as a Farmer and Superintendant. He was the son of Thomas  Jefferson Moon and Ella Demaris Randolph born in Jackson Co Georgia. He was a  Superintendent according to Jackson County, Georgia Census. He was born in   Jackson County,Ga. He married Georgia A Bullock born in Ga. She was the  daughter of John Bullock and Ascenith (Cenie) McElhannon. She was born in  Madison County, Ga.

The grandparents  of Thomas Love Moon were Thomas Jefferson Moon and Ella  Demaris Randolph. Thomas Jefferson Moon was the son of Robert Moon Jr and  Katherine Reid Lyle.
 The Randolphs lived in Randolph District according to Census.were from  Albamarle County Virginia. Their line are connected to President Thomas I.  (Isham) Jefferson, from Monticello, Albamarle Co Virginia, through his mother  Jane Isham Randolph that married Peter Jefferson.  
 Ella Demaris Randolph was born in Jackson Co, Ga. Robert Moon Jr. was a Farmer  and a State Senator according to Census.

Johnson Elijah Chastain was the son of Calloway Chastain born 1888 in Ellijay  Ga, Gilmer Co & Sarah Jane Southern. He married Mary Elizabeth Bell born in  Winston Co Alabama.
 She was the daughter of Nathan Thomas Bell ,and Mattie Hogan. They were both born in  Haleyville, Alabama  Winston Co.
 They are descendants of Pierre' Chastain b France. The name Chastain means chestnut  picker.
